High potential creates opportunities
Sweden has been a supplier of metals and mining products for hundreds of years, with one of the world’s largest known resources of iron ore. Historically, the Stockholm region too has been a stronghold. Now with several projects on the way, a new era has begun. Come and be part of it.
At present there are three metal mines in production in Bergslagen: Garpenberg, Lovisagruvan and Zinkgruvan. However, increasing demand for metals from above all Asiatic countries has changed the prerequisites for mining and Central Sweden has come into focus again.
According to the Nordic Centre for Spatial Development, the number of mines in Sweden could double. Factor in the excellent infrastructure and what The Fraser Institute´s Survey of Mining Companies calls ‘the best mining policy in the world’ and you quickly realise that this means opportunities for investors.
Within two hours drive from Stockholm, there are more than 10,500 known historical mines and prospects where metals and minerals from iron, copper, zinc, lead, silver, gold, tungsten, molybdenum, nickel, cobalt, limestone, quartz, feldspar etc. have been produced.
Advanced technology and education
Regarding metals and mining, Institutions like the Royal Institute of Technology, with cutting-edge research in metallurgy, and world leader in mining equipment supplier Atlas Copco are industry household names.
